Product description

ECOSTICK® 1816B is a single-component, water-based polyurethane (PU) adhesive developed for the cold bonding of leather and other materials.

ECOSTICK® 1816B is suitable for bonding materials such as leather, synthetic leather, fabrics, linings, cardboard, and regenerated materials. The adhesive can also be used on leather with a fat percentageof up to 15%.

An additional advantage is that ECOSTICK® 1816B is resistant to yellowing.

To ensure controlled and even application, the manufacturer of ECOSTICK® 1816B has developed a genuine 10 mm "Cat's Tongue" brush. You can also find the original Intercom 10 mm Cat's Tongue brush in our webshop.

Cold bonding – two-sided application
Apply ECOSTICK® 1816B to both surfaces to be bonded and allow the adhesive to dry. If the two parts are joined within 20 minutes of drying, no heat activation is required. Bring the materials together and apply sufficient pressure.

Laminating – one-sided application
For laminating leather with fabrics, Moltopren, or foam rubber, the adhesive can also be applied to one side. Apply a generous amount of ECOSTICK® 1816B to the leather or the less absorbent material and join the materials immediately.

Heat activation
ECOSTICK® 1816B can also be reactivated using heat. After the cold open time has elapsed—approximately 30 minutes after application—the adhesive film can be reactivated by heat. The recommended surface temperature for the adhesive film is 60–65°C. With heat activation, the adhesive can be reactivated within 48 hours. Final bond strength is achieved after approximately 48 hours.

Storage
Store ECOSTICK® 1816B:

in a cool, dry place
protected from direct sunlight
at a temperature of 5–30 °C

Note: ECOSTICK® 1816B is sensitive to frost. Temperatures below 5 °C can cause irreversible damage to the product.

After opening
Close the container tightly immediately after use. For the 250 g and 500 g containers: always use both the inner lid and the screw cap. Never leave the container open when the adhesive is not in use. This helps ensure optimal preservation of the adhesive after opening.
